He was born May 17, 1933, in Brazil, as the son of Edward and Ethel Crabb McKinney. He was retired from Allisons Transmission in Indianapolis, and also drove a school bus for the Clay Community School Corporation until May 2010. He was a member of the Brazil Nazarene Church, F&AM Masonic Lodge #541, and has served on the Brazil City Twp. Board. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Clifford, Carl, Bob, Harry, and Jim McKinney, sisters Chole McKinney, Minnie Brozeman, Helen Smith, Anna Mary Dickison, and Helen Louise Craig, granddaughter Autumn Faith Harty, and niece raised as family Shari McKinney Overshiner.
He is survived by his wife of almost 56 years Nadine Porter McKinney, children Sally (Monte) Allen, Brazil, Suzie (Brad) Hayes, Center Point, adopted daughter Sheila (Mike) Skelton, Brazil, Shawn McKinney, Winchester, Ohio, an adopted son Jonathon McKinney, niece raised as family Cari Joab, sisters Maude Dickison and Sarah Schnurpel, brother George (Kate) McKinney, 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, extended family David and Krissie Lawrence, Independence, Ky., many friends, fellow workers, and school bus drivers, and neighbor Ann Bradshaw.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Monday at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Black Cemetery near Marshall, Ill.
