North Clay claims victory in three-way meet at North Central

FARMERSBURG -- The North Clay cross country teams earned a pair of wins in a three-way meet against North Central and Sullivan on Wednesday evening.

The North Clay boys tallied 18 points and placed their top-six runners inside the top-10 overall to earn the win over Sullivan, which had 53 points and North Central, which had 62.

The North Clay girls won the meet with 23 points to top Sulivan (52) and North Central (56).

In the boys' race, Cam Trout led the way with a winning time of 11:58 with teammate, Josh Johnson, crossing the line in 12:09 overall. Tyler McNabb took fourth in 13:23, Christian Herron was fifth in 13:29, Gaidj Evans took sixth in 13:51 and Dawson Nelson was seventh in 13:52 to cap the Knights' top-10 finishers.

In the girls' race, Emily Conrad was the winner with a time of 13:32 with Allie Dupin placing second in 13:45. Lexie Williams placed fifth in 14:45 followed by Kourtney Johnson in sixth with a time of 15:11 and Isabella Shumaker was ninth in 15:23.

"I was happy with the results," coach Chris Walker said. "I thought we ran well for it being a weekday. Josh, Tyler, and Lexie ran very well."

North Clay will be back in action on Saturday at South Knox beginning at 9 a.m.
