Northview will compete in the Red Pride Marching Invitational at Plainfield High School, located at 1 Red Pride Dr., Plainfield, Ind., while the Imperial Regiment will compete in the Warren Central Invitational, located at 9500 E. 16th St., Indianapolis.
This is the 30th year the Red Pride Invitational has taken place. Awards will be presented to the top three bands in each class, as well as awards for Best Percussion Unit, Best Auxiliary, Best Music, Best Marching and Best General Effect in each class.
Bands from four classes will compete.
Northview is scheduled to take the field at 6:54 p.m., in Class B competition. Other Class B bands competing include Zionsville, Bloomington North, Mt. Vernon, Cathedral, New Castle Chrysler, Greenwood and Decatur Central.
Plainfield will also compete, but is scheduled for an exhibition performance.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. Concessions and ample parking will be available.
The Imperial Regiment, competing in Class D, will take the field at 4:26 p.m., Saturday. Other Class D bands performing include Triton Central, Clinton Central and Elwood.
This is the second competition for Clay City this year after competing in the Franklin Central Invitational Sept. 11. The Imperial Regiment placed second overall with a score of 54.95. Orleans won the competition with a tally of 57.45.
ISSMA District contests are scheduled to begin Saturday, Oct. 2, with Clay City competing at Columbus East High School and Northview participating in the Southport District.
