Ruth Joan Waldbieser, 82, Center Point, died at 3 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Union Hospital, Terre Haute.

She was born Dec. 28, 1927, in Center Point, as the daughter of Harry Logan and Roxana Gertrude Reeder Foster. She married Marvin E. Waldbieser. She was a lifetime member of the Center Point United Methodist Church, a member of the church choir, United Methodist Women's group for over 40 years, youth director for over 30 years, 4H Leader, instructional assistant with the Clay Community School Corp., member of Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years, and she operated a kindergarten in her home for several years. She also served as Bible School superintendent, church camp counselor and along with her husband, she sang in the Hilltoppers gospel singing group.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James P. Foster and sister Jeanne Campbell.

She is survived her husband Marvin, daughters Linda Miklik (Tom) and Jodi Sowders (Jeff), son Mark Waldbieser (Hope), six grandchildren Michael Miklik (Bethany), Kelly Miklik Barker (Travis), Kerry Miklik Martin (Jake), Christy Sowders Hughes (J.T.), Ben Sowders (Becky), and Jared Waldbieser, 10 great-grandchildren, sister Harriet Sneddon, and other extended family.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, and 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Kumpf officiating.
