ISP schedules 'Drug Take Back Day'

PUTNAMVILLE -- The Indiana State Police will participate in a nationwide initiative headed by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Saturday, Sept. 25.

The first "Prescription Drug Take Back Day," initiative seeks to prevent increased pill abuse and theft and collection sites will be set up nationwide as a collection point for expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction.

The service is free and anonymous and no questions will be asked.

All ISP Posts (with the exception of the Toll Road Post in northern Indiana) are designated drop off sites.

Citizens wishing to participate in the program may drop off their prescription drugs for disposal at state police posts, including the post in Putnamville, between 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 25.

The Putnamville post is located at 1927 W. United States 40, Greencastle, Ind., 46135.
