He was born in Greencastle, Nov. 21, 1953, to Dannie E. Watts, Sr. and Barbara Lawson Watts.
He is survived by his wife Theresa Long Watts, whom he married June 5, 1976. One son, Ryan Watts (& wife Lesley) and one daughter, Kayla Watts also survive. Other survivors include his father, two sisters Deanna Evans (& husband Randy), and Debra Swisher (& husband Joseph), one brother David Watts (and wife Teresa), as well as two grandchildren Kylie and Garrett Watts, nieces Jamie Purvis, Brittney Evans, Alisha Long and Lauren Long, and one nephew Brandon Evans, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and Harry Long, and brother-in-law Mike Long (& wife Twila).
He was preceded in death by two brothers Dale and Darrell Watts, and his mother Barbara Watts.
He was a restaurant owner, having previously owned The Western Sizzlin, in both Terre Haute and Muncie, Boot Hill Restaurant, The 63 Café and 63 Mobile Concessions, and was also former owner of Dan's Texaco/Marathon Convenience, a former bricklayer and also enjoyed many sports.
Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at 1 p.m., with Pastor John Sandiford officiating. Burial is in Summitt Lawn Cemetery, Brazil. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, from 4-8 p.m., in the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Stevie Ridge, Paul French, Cody Rich, Mike Long, David Watts and Danny Jones.
