TERRE HAUTE -- The Northview volleyball team started games one and three well, but Terre Haute South finished them both emphatically as the Braves claimed a 25-10, 25-18, 25-12 win over the Knights on Tuesday.
Northview led early in game one at 5-4, however, South ran off the final 10 points of the game to take the quick advantage over the Knights.
The second game saw the Braves open up with an early lead and cruise to the victory. However, in game three, the Knights led by two points at 6-4 before the Braves buckled down and got a 10-point service run by Katie Moon to open up a nine-point on the way to a deciding victory.
The Knights got 10 assists from Briana Cook and eight from Lizzie Emmert with Brylie Riddell posting nine kills and freshman, Shelbi Morris, adding five. Ashlen Buck had 11 digs to lead Northview and Audrey Clark had seven.
In the JV match, Northview improved to 13-2 overall after a 25-14, 25-16 victory.
The Knights' varsity falls to 13-7 overall and hosts South Vermillion on Sept. 30.
