Owen County officials are investigating an accident involving a man, a horse and an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) late Saturday.
According to officials, members of the Clay City Police Department, Clay County Sheriff's Department, Clay City Fire Department and TransCare were dispatched to provide medical assistance for an accident victim located near 601 Front St., Clay City.
Upon arrival, officials found and treated Jacob Skinner, 23, Indianapolis, for injuries reportedly sustained while riding an ATV in the Coal City area in Owen County.
According to information provided to CCPD, Skinner apparently struck a horse and was thrown from the ATV at an undisclosed location sometime before midnight.
Several unidentified individuals, who were allegedly present at the time of the accident, loaded up the ATV and Skinner before driving back to the 601 Front Street location and notifying emergency medical units.
Due to the accident allegedly happening in Owen County, the Owen County Sheriff's Office was notified at 12:02 a.m., Sunday.
Owen County Sheriff Chester Richardson told The Brazil Times officers spent more than two hours looking for the alleged accident site, but were unsuccessful. No injured animals were found.
"If anyone has information about the accident, they can contact our department," Richardson said about the ongoing investigation.

Skinner was transported to the Clay City Fire Department by TransCare, and then taken by air-ambulance from that location to an Indianapolis hospital.
