Born Aug. 1, 1912, the son of William and Lillie Kord. Keith was a farmer throughout his life until his health prevented him from being an active participant. In his 20's, he worked at Arketex for a brief period of time.
He is survived by his wife Pauline, with whom he had been married 76 years, daughter Carolyn Thomas and husband Dave, Terre Haute, grandchildren Steve Thomas and wife Stacey, Melbourne, Australia, Paula Murphy and husband Jim, Kirkwood, Mo., Amy Connelly and husband Mike, Kirkwood, Mo., nine great-grandchildren Liam, Ewan, Payton, Fletcher and Carson Thomas, Melbourne, Australia, and Jack, Joe and Matthew Connelly and Mia Murphy, all of Kirkwood, Mo.
Keith was a faithful, life-long member of the Zion United Church of Christ and served the church in different capacities throughout his lifetime. He was a past president of the Clay Community Hospital Board, County Commissioner, precinct committeeman and a board member of the Farm Bureau Co-Op. He was also a 65-year member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite, Valley of Terre Haute.
Services will be held Saturday, at 10 a.m., at French Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Poland Chapel Historical Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, from 4-7 p.m., and again prior to services.
