Mobile Meth Lab suspects arrested

Monday, September 27, 2010

Steven R. Hauser
Local law enforcement officials discovered a mobile meth lab and arrested two Wabash Valley men on various drug-related charges during a traffic stop Saturday.

According to information provided by the Clay County Sheriff's Department, Steven R. Hauser, 43, Vigo County, and Christopher T. Hauser, 35, from Sullivan County, were arrested on several preliminary felony charges related to manufacturing methamphetamine, including manufacturing methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug precursors, possession of anhydrous ammonia and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.

Shortly after 1 a.m., Saturday, a deputy discovered a vehicle parked in an area near County Road 600 West, just south of CR 600 South. When the deputy approached the vehicle to check on the subjects, a tank allegedly used to store anhydrous was in plain sight inside the vehicle, batteries were on the dashboard and an active meth lab generator was on the passenger-side floorboard.

The Indiana State Police Lab Team assisted in the clean up and dismantling of the lab. Both suspects are currently being held in the Clay County Justice Center on a $25,000 cash bond with no 10 percent allowed while waiting for formal court proceedings.

Well if there is something good that came from this, other than them being arrested, it is that no innocent children were involved! And they weren't actively making the meth right next door to my house!

Now I worry about anyone who buys a used car - how do we know what might have been in the trunk? Will it make children sitting in the back seat sick from long ago meth ingredients?

Would YOU buy a used car from either of these men?

Whats been in the trunk, Ho my god you must be kiding me

While the article clearly states:

"The Indiana State Police Lab Team assisted in the clean up and dismantling of the lab."

I can't imagine wasting so much of my time worrying about something outside the realm of logic. Glad someone else is doing that for me.

Emmes & Thorn44 - it is a known fact that some Meth residue cannot be cleaned up. There are homes that are no longer liveable because meth labs were active there. In one case in TH, the home has been sold twice and has had much cleaning and remodeling but there is still residue and it now sits empty. It can affect the soil also so pardon me if I worry that some of the junk might be left in the trunk to make babies & small children sick.

Dagnabbitt- of course I would not knowingly buy a car from them but you don't know who had it before you if you buy it from a used car salesman. Please people - I am not as stupid as you would like to make me seem.
