NHS preps for Homecoming

Many activities are scheduled to take place this week at Northview High School in preparation for the school's annual Fall Homecoming.

The NHS football squad will face South Vermillion at home Friday, beginning at 7 p.m.

In anticipation for the homecoming game, students have scheduled many events to take place this week.

Five "Dress-Up" Days have been scheduled this week. Students dressed up as Nerds Monday and a Jungle theme was set for Tuesday.

In addition, Favorite Celebrity Day is Wednesday, while Decade Day is Thursday. Black Out Day is scheduled for Friday as students are asked to dress up in school colors.

Many other activities have been scheduled as well.

A Nelson's Port-A-Pit Chicken Dinner will take place from 4:30-7 p.m., Friday, in the high school parking lot prior to the football game.

The school will conduct a pep session at 2:30 p.m., Friday, and several games, including a dunking booth, will be on hand prior to the start of the game.

The Northview Marching Knights will perform at halftime of the football game and band seniors will be honored at halftime.

The coronation of the 2010 Fall Homecoming Queen will also take place prior to the start of the football game. Queen candidates this year include seniors Stephanie Bechtel, Darcy Bass, Kaylee Clark, Emily Durcholz and Danielle Kriebel.

A Lip-Sync class competition has also been scheduled to take place following Friday's game.
