North Clay volleyball defeats Clay City

The North Clay seventh and-eighth-grade volleyball teams earned wins over Clay City on Monday evening.

The seventh-grade Knights won a 25-6, 25-13 decision as Morgan Stearley posted eight points with two aces and four kills in the win. Kaytlin Galloway also had eight points for the Knights and Madison McDonald contributed seven points with four aces. Zoe Orman added in six points with Madison Trusty scoring four points from the service line. Breanna Dove had three, Kaylee Cooper tallied two and both Alyssa Yocom and Grace Timberman had a point. Yocom also contributed an assist and Ashley Heck had a kill in the match.

In the eighth-grade match, North Clay scored a 25-4, 25-24 victory led by a two-point, two assist, one ace and one kill night from Taylor Hess. Mannah Mace added five points with an ace and McKenzi Kumpf rang up 10 points, three assists and two kills in the victory. Mikayla Rowan had two kills for the Knights, Whitney Halfhill added two kills and an assist and Madison Nevins had three points. Sydney Buell tallied three points with an ace and a kill, Gracie Geswein had three points and a kill with Shea Britton scoring two points and a kill.

The seventh-grade is now 11-0 overall and the eighth-grade is 10-1 with a home match against Cascade
