Community Covenant set for Saturday at popcorn festival

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

The Centennial Lodge No. 541 Free and Accepted Masons, along with the 138th Quartermaster Support Company, will present a Community Covenant Signing Ceremony Saturday.

The event will take place at 3:30 p.m., at the Forest Park Band Shell during the Popcorn Festival of Clay County.

A Community Covenant signing ceremony is a public display of support by community leaders to the military and family members living in that community.

Soldiers and their families are asked to do a lot in service for the nation. Their quality of life should be equal with the quality of their service.

Multiple deployments have put a strain on military families.

The Community Covenant allows communities (states, cities and towns) across America to demonstrate support for soldiers and their families during times of war.

The Covenant highlights and shares initiatives that support soldiers and their families.

All those present will be invited to sign a banner that will be displayed at the Brazil National Guard Armory.
