He was born July 13, 1956, in Clay County, the son of John Dickison and Mildred McMurry Dickison. He graduated from Brazil High School. He worked in local coal mines, for the sheriff's department and last worked as a truck driver.
He had been a member of the Army National Guard.
He had attended the Church of the Living Christ. He enjoyed racing and karaoke for fun.
On July 28. 2009, he married Bonnie Pugh Dickison, she survives.
Other survivors include his sister Annette Clark, five brothers Larry Mitscher (Judy), Danny Mitscher (Linda), Eugene Dickison, Walter Dickison (Lora), and Hugh Dickison, two stepdaughters Tiffany and Melissa, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Gregory Scott Dickison in 2003.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, at 11 a.m., at French Funeral Home, with Pastor Ernie Phillips officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial of the ashes will be at Clearview Cemetery at a later date.
