The Clay County Republican Club will host a Freedom Concert Friday, Oct. 8.
The event will take place at North Clay Middle School and will run from 6-8:30 p.m.
Musical acts will include Kandace Brown, Sam Glover, Red White and Blues Jazz and the Freedom First Band.
In addition to the musical entertainment, the public will have the opportunity to meet and hear from Republican candidates up for election this year.
Special guest for the evening will be 8th District Congressional candidate Dr. Larry Bucshon. The 8th District is currently occupied by Congressman Brad Ellsworth (D-Evansville), who is now running for the U.S. Senate.
Bucshon is expected to speak around 8 p.m., and will be available to speak with those in attendance throughout the evening.
Attendees will also be able to speak with State Senator John Waterman, and all three candidates vying for Indiana House seats in Clay County. Three legislative districts include parts of Clay County and the candidates for those seats include Bob Heaton (running for District 46), Jim Baird (running for District 44), and Alan Morrison (running for District 43).
Local county candidates and elected officials will also address the crowd.
Tickets will be available at the door and cost $7 per person or $20 per family.
The price of admission includes a free hot dog, chips and drink.
Cornhole games and other activities will be available at the event.
The public is invited.
