Brody Sage Starkey, 9, Brazil, went home to be with the Lord at 3:46 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, where he had been a patient for the past three months while he battled a rare disease called NBIA.

He was born June 14, 2001, as the son of Loni Head and Kirby Starkey. He was loved by many and will be sadly missed.

He attended Forest Park Elementary and had Jody Sipes for a teacher. Jody was a big impact on his life and he always enjoyed being with her.

To anybody that knew Brody, they knew that he was a joy to be around. He always had a bright smile no matter what, and he touched our lives.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother Sharon Head.

He is survived by his parents Loni Head, Steve Budd and Kirby Starkey, grandparents Michael and Debra Head, Janet and Danny Lackey and Mary Budd, great-grandparents Evert and Dora Arnett and Robert Head, brothers and sisters Kaydence Budd and Bryce, Kolten and Aubree Starkey, special aunt April and husband Mark Molter, Nick Starkey and Samantha and her husband Darby King, many cousins, great aunts and uncles, and other extended family.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Clearview Cemetery.
