Rochelle Fay Mathis, 60, Rockville, died in the emergency room at St. Vincent Clay Hospital, Brazil, Monday, Oct. 4, 2010.

She was born Oct. 12, 1949, in Clay County, as the daughter of George C. and Helen Montgomery Culler. She had worked as a homemaker and had owned and operated Judelle's Knitting Crafters Shop in Brazil. She married Mathias G. Mathis Dec. 25, 1969. She attended the Harmony Church of Christ and was active with the Relay For Life program.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Jerald Scott.

She is survived by her husband, sons Dale Allen Mathis (Alicia), Rockville, and Shawn Allen Mathis, Denver, Colo., grandchildren Ryan and Abby Mathis, sister Naia Lue Scott, Peoria, Ill., brothers Roy Culler (Elaine), Patricksburg, Ind., and Darrell Culler (Carol), Brazil, brother-in-law Dane Mathis, California, and other extended family.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 7, at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Clay City. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Relay For Life, 705 Putnam, Terre Haute, Ind., 47802.
