UDWI scheduled Oct. 20 workshop

Builders and homeowners interested in the best practices for maximizing energy efficiency and comfort should take notice.

To promote increased energy efficient and comfort in homes, Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC is offering an energy seminar for builders, members and the general public at no cost.

The event will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the UDWI office, located on State Road 54 near Bloomfield.

Energy Pros will conduct the seminar.

Energy Pros are a group of subcontractors, builders and manufacturers who are dedicated to sponsoring education for the public on the benefits and strategies of high performances homes.

The group sponsors monthly seminars to inform consumers on particular techniques used to achieve levels of comfort and energy efficiency in home construction.

The five topics of discussion at the meeting will include:

* Air Sealing,

* Insulation,

* Foundation,

* Windows and doors, and

* HVAC systems.
