North Clay seventh-grade football team wraps up 8-1 season

Thursday, October 14, 2010

Times Staff Report

The North Clay seventh-grade football team put the finishing touches on an 8-1 season by defeating Linton, 8-0 on Wednesday night.

The lone score of a tight contest came as quarterback Tucker Stewart found fleet footed Liam Jones for a 30-yard touchdown connection. The two-point conversion pass went to Brandon Radar.

From there, the Knights kept Linton off the scoreboard thanks to the defensive efforts from outside linebackers, Cale McCoy and Stewart along with secondary backs, Jones, Lance Rector and Ben Girton.

Throughout the season, North Clay got daily hard work in both practices and games from Zach Batchelor, Caleb Siddons, Jacob Shriver, Jordan Berry, Ryder Chiles, Tyler Hellums, Levi Riggle, Trent Goda, Dylan Hall, Brayson Metz, Terry

McGuffin, Tyler Brown, Logan Rust, Damon Shepard, A.J. Wallen, Matt

Phegley and managers, Kaleb Bell and Steven Durbin.

Coach Russell and Coach Dyar would like to thank all of our

parents for supplying positive support and team meals before games.
