I will continue to work by attending meetings, as well as staying in contact with our representatives and local officials to keep myself informed on what is going on.
I have experience, plus time and dedication to do the job.
For 18 years, I was Jackson Township Trustee, and in that time, I balanced my budgets each year, assessed properties and managed welfare cases.
This gave me essential experience in government procedures, but I also have the time to attend other meetings and visit the state house to learn more about current and upcoming legislation.
The county council oversees financial matters for the county, including setting the budgets and salaries for all departments and elected officials.
The county, state and country are all going through tough economic times, but I am proud to say that all local entities and offices worked with us during the recent budget session. They all understand changes had to be made, and were willing to make sacrifices.
My goal is to control spending and maintain the services we already have.
I have no obligations to anyone but to my voters, friends and family.
Serving on a government body should not be taken lightly, and I plan to serve the best interest of the people, along with do what is best with the tax dollars.
It takes a unified effort from all officials to make the county run efficiently, and all of us -- including the council, commissioners and Redevelopment Commission -- work extremely well together.
I want to thank you for support in the past and would appreciate your confidence in me again.
