COALMONT -- Firefighters responded to a structure fire in southern Clay County Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 4 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a field fire near a structure on State Road 159, about three miles north of Coalmont.
Upon arrival, firefighters reported it was a residential structure fire rather than a field fire. The owner of the structure was not known at press time.
According to firefighters, the fire started outside the structure and quickly spread up the east side into the attic area.
Fire crews were on the scene for close to three, but no injuries were reported.
Assisting agencies at the fire included the Clay City Volunteer Fire Department, Jasonville Fire Department and Wright Township Fire Department.
