Two Carbon men in jail on arson charges

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

John M. Farnsworth
Two Carbon men are currently in custody on allegations of intentionally setting fire to a home on Oct. 16.

According to information released by officials Tuesday afternoon, Warren B. Krebbs, 22, and John M. Farnsworth, 19, both from Carbon, are each in custody at the Clay County Justice Center on preliminary charges of Conspiracy to Commit Arson on $25,000 cash bonds.

On Saturday, Oct. 16, around 12:30 a.m., E911 dispatchers received a report of a structure fire at 14590 N. Oak St., Carbon. Members of the Van Buren Township Volunteer Fire Department, along with assistance from Dick Johnson Volunteer Fire Department, were dispatched to the scene.

Warren B. Krebbs
The firemen were able to extinguish the fire and prevent any damage to the building next door. However, the Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office was contacted due to the suspicious nature of the fire.

VB Fire Chief Pete Taylor and Indiana Assistant Chief Fire Inspector Fred Daffer determined the fire was intentionally set.

The Clay County Sheriff's Department and Carbon Town Marshal worked closely with the Clay County Prosecutor's Office during the ongoing investigation that collected evidence and information about the two suspects.

Officials confirmed Krebbs and Farnsworth remain in jail awaiting formal court proceedings per the calendar.

Good job on getting these two (of course, they're inocent until proven guilty); but these guys look like they haven't the brain cells between them to be smart enough to start a fire!

You failed at being a moron! Your comment read ok, but it had a hint of education in it. If you want to be a true dummy, you have to leave out punctuation, and stop capitalizing the first word of a sentence.

By the way. Awesome job getting these two so quickly. If they can now be prosecuted and given a proper sentence, we can see a fine example of the justice system.

Emmes, I'll give you a B+ for effort.

Prosecuted??? and given a proper sentence??? In this county??? ha! what a joke - only if it does not include our prosecutor trying the case!

Oh,And for those of you that "WILL" make fun of my speech or puncuation or what ever else you can find. I'd like you to remember to do this one thing for me...BITE ME!!!NOTHIN PERSONAL!!!

Cardonia: It is not necessary to capitalize the word "And". Kudos for correctly placing a comma after the word "Oh". But, the next word is not the beginning of a sentence and does not require capitalization.

That said, the word "And" is a conjunction and was used incorrectly anyway.

I am sorry. I guess I have to "bite you" now?
