He was born Sept. 29, 1955, in Michigan City, Ind., as the son of Gilbert and Phyllis Dierdorf Ellis. He had worked as a mechanic and a CNA at Exceptional Living Center until his health failed. He served in the Indiana National Guard.
He was married to Flora Ellis, who survives him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Flora, sister Edna Meeks (Randy), Savannah, Ga., brothers Robert Ellis (Viola) and Tony Ellis (Dirinda), all of Brazil, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m., Tuesday, with Pastor Tom Roeschlein officiating.
Burial followed at Harmony Cemetery.
