The Northview High School band program has already begun purchasing items with funds from its Pepsi Refresh Everything grant.

Band director Bob Medworth said the program recently purchased two laptops with funds from the grant. The computers will be used in the music instruction lab.

In addition, Medworth said the band program is at it again.

He said the program was accepted by Pepsi to attempt another chance for an additional grant.

The grant is for $50,000 and Northview currently ranks 15th among those attempting to receive it.

The top 10 qualify.

If the program earns the grant, Medworth said the funds would be used to help purchase uniforms and equipment for the band, guard, choir and cheerleaders.

The project may be viewed online at http://www.refresheverything.com/keepthe....

Those interested in voting may do so daily via text message by sending a text to 73774 and put 103899 in the subject.

Voting for the grant will continue through Nov. 30.

A link to vote is available at the band's website (www.northviewband.org).

In addition, Medworth said those interested may do so through Facebook by e-mail account and text voting.

Earlier this year, the program earned top-10 status and received a $25,000 grant from Pepsi.

In addition, the band also had the opportunity to take part in a commercial through the foundation.

The commercial was videotaped at Northview High School.
