She was born July 29, 1918, in Brazil, the daughter of John W. and Rebecca Walzer Tarvin.
Mary was a graduate of Staunton High School and Indiana State University.
She was a microbiologist for the Indiana State Board of Health for 35 years, retiring in 1983.
Mary is the widow of Forest W. Gasaway and Lewis F. Anderson.
She is survived by her son Everett (Kathleen) Gasaway, grandchildren Anthony (Debbie) Gasaway, and Donnell Sullivan, and great-grandchildren Caitlin and Patrick Gasaway.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Ellen Gross and Alice Tarvin, and brother Nobel Tarvin.
A memorial visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, from 10 a.m.-noon, at the Moore Funeral Home, Brazil.
Burial will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery, Brazil.
