Christa M. Orlaska, 56, Brazil, passed away at home Nov. 8, 2010, surrounded by her family, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 4, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of James D. and Constance (Mattern) McFarland.
Christa spent her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She enjoyed caring for her family, cooking, sewing and gardening.
She had a soft spot for animals and was known for having a green thumb.
She is survived by her parents James McFarland and wife Joyce, and Constance North and husband Peter, all of Ohio, husband Eric Orlaska, daughter Hope Cole and husband Fred, Brazil, son Derek Orlaska and wife Kelly, Indianapolis, granddaughter Sabrina, sister Kim Passmore and husband Joe, Maryland, and brother Andrew McFarland and wife Marianna, Columbus, Ohio, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will take place at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, from 4-7 p.m.
Burial will take place at Union Cemetery, Cadiz, Ohio, at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 12, 2010.
Following visitation, there will be an opportunity for family and friends to share memories.
