On Thursday, Brazil Mayor Ann Bradshaw signed a proclamation declaring November as National Home Care Month in Brazil.

Officials from Intrepid USA Home Health Care were on hand for the signing.

According to Intrepid officials, more than 11 million Americans receive home-delivered health care from providers.

"Caring for the sick or those recovering from surgery, or elderly in their homes truly is a privilege for us," Intrepid Administrator Jan Scott said.

Intrepid officials stated today's home care agency offers a "wealth of nursing, physical, occupational, speech therapies, medical social work services, speciality wound care nursing, dietary education, laboratory services, home medical supplies and personal care."

"Intrepid USA Health Care Services care always has the goal of independence in mind when caring for our neighbors," Intrepid Executive Director Shirley Jeffers added.

Officials said home care services are paid for by public and private sources, or directly by patients and their families.

Intrepid USA Health Care Services provides in-home and supportive services for Vermillion, Parke, Vigo, Sullivan, Clay, Putnam and the surrounding counties to acute and chronically ill patients and their families.
