The following is a list of upcoming events provided to The Brazil Times:

Board Notice

Until further notice, the Brazil Golf Board will meet in Council Chambers at Brazil City Hall at 7 p.m., on the third Monday of each month.

The meetings are open to the public.

City Hall Closed

Brazil City Hall will be closed for Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday.

City Hall will reopen Monday, Nov. 29, for regular business at 8 a.m.

In addition, the Sanitation Department will conduct trash removal for Thursday on Friday.

Paper Schedule

This week, The Brazil Times will publish newspapers Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Papers will not be published Tuesday, and Thursday.

In addition, The Times' office will be closed Thanksgiving Day.

Leaf Pickup

The City of Brazil is conducting leaf pickup by section on the following days:

* Northeast section -- Today and Tuesday, and

* Southeast section -- Wednesday, Nov. 24, 29-30 and Dec. 1-2.

Residents are asked to rake all leaves into the street, along the curb, and remove all parked cars during these time periods to allow access for the leaf machine.

The Clay County Humane Shelter has launched NOVEMPURRR, for the remainder of the month.

More than 100 cats are currently housed at the shelter.

Shelter officials said for the rest of the month, residents may adopt any cats 6-months or older for $25.

Meeting Set

The regular meeting of the Brazil Board of Public Works and Safety will take place at 10 a.m., Tuesday, in Council Chambers at Brazil City Hall.

General business will be discussed and the public is welcome to attend the meeting.

Chamber Meeting

The monthly Clay County Chamber of Commerce meeting will take place at noon, Tuesday.

The meeting will take place in the St. Vincent Clay Hospital Community Room.

Cost is $7 for members and $10 for non-members.

The speaker will be Faril Ward from TransCare.

Open House

VistaCare Hospice, 3401 S. 4th St., Terre Haute, will conduct a Community Open House from 2-5 p.m., Tuesday.

Complimentary refreshments will be served along with a chance to win door prizes.

Meeting Moved

The K&H Regional Sewer District Board will meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, at the Knightsville Community House.

The November meeting was changed due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The First Baptist Church, 413 S. Walnut St., Brazil, will conduct its 25th Thanksgiving Day Dinner at noon, Thursday.

All families are invited to attend and there is no charge.

Delivery is available for only homebound residents in the Brazil area.

Meeting Set

The Clay Community Schools Central Curriculum Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 30, in the media center of North Clay Middle School.

Items on the agenda include review of new high school course proposals and course changes, as well as development of timeline for Kindergarten-12th grade science and health textbook adoption.

Session Set

An executive session for the Brazil Golf Board will take place at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1, in Brazil City Hall Council Chambers.

The Forest Park Golf Course will be discussed.
