Until further notice, the Brazil Golf Board will meet in Council Chambers at Brazil City Hall at 7 p.m., on the third Monday of each month.
The meetings are open to the public.
City Hall Closed
In observance of Thanksgiving Day, Brazil City Hall will be closed today.
City Hall will reopen Monday, Nov. 29, for regular business at 8 a.m.
In addition, the Sanitation Department will conduct trash removal for Thursday today.

'Decorate A Door'
Cloverleaf Healthcare, Knightsville, is sponsoring its first "Decorate a Door" contest at the facility.
The holiday creativity contest is open to the public, with prizes being awarded, including a top prize of $50 for the most creative display.

Shop With A Cop
Applications for families to be considered for the annual "Shop With A Cop" program are being accepted at the Brazil City Police Department until Friday, Dec. 3.
After checking applications against other local charity organizations, families selected for the program will be notified of the dates for the two-day event, which have yet to be scheduled.

Donations may also be made to support the program. Checks may be dropped by the basement office of the department or sent to Brazil City Police Department, 22 S. Washington St., Brazil, Ind., 47834.
The City of Brazil is conducting leaf pickup by section on the following days:
* Southeast section -- Monday and Tuesday, and Dec. 1-2.
Residents are asked to rake all leaves into the street, along the curb, and remove all parked cars during these time periods to allow access for the leaf machine.

The Clay County Humane Shelter has launched NOVEMPURRR, for the remainder of the month.
More than 100 cats are currently housed at the shelter.
Shelter officials said for the rest of the month, residents may adopt any cats 6-months or older for $25.

Wesley Chapel Church will be selling hot chocolate and coffee during the Christmas In The Park Parade Friday, at the corner of State Road 59 and United States 40 in front of Ted Paris' Allstate Insurance office.
Bucks House of Color, Brazil, will host a Christmas Marketplace from 12:30-5 p.m., Sunday, at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds.
Free goodie bags will be available for the first 150 people at the door.
Door prizes, craft vendors and more will be available.
Those bringing a canned good or toiletry item will receive one free raffle ticket for a drawing.
All items will be donated to local food pantries.
The Clay Community Schools Central Curriculum Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 30, in the media center of North Clay Middle School.
Items on the agenda include review of new high school course proposals and course changes, as well as development of timeline for Kindergarten-12th grade science and health textbook adoption.

An executive session for the Brazil Golf Board will take place at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1, in Brazil City Hall Council Chambers.
The Forest Park Golf Course will be discussed.
The Diabetes Self Management Group classes will continue at Putnam County Hospital.
Classes are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 2, and Thursday, Dec. 9.
Morning classes meet 9 a.m.-noon, and afternoon classes meet 1-4 p.m.
The classes are open to anyone dealing with Diabetes.
There are sessions, including "101: What is Diabetes," and "201: Nutrition Education."
Cost is $25 for both classes and if a patient pre-registers, they save $5.
A doctor's referral is not necessary to attend the classes.

First Christian Church, 1875 W. United States 40, Brazil, will present "The Journey," Dec. 3-5, from 6-9 p.m., at the church.
The event is free to the public.
The journey will take approximately 45 minutes.

Share Food Signups will take place from 9-11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, at First Christian Church, 1875 W. United States 40, Brazil.
Pickup will take place from 9-10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 18.
This is the last time for the service.
The annual Tri Kappa Christmas Home Tour will take place from 1-5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 5.
Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.
Tickets may be purchased at the main branch of Riddell National Bank or by calling 442-1300 or 448-9620.
The Allen Memorial Planetarium will conduct a Holiday Laser Light Show Dec. 10, at 6:30 p.m., and Dec. 11, at 2 p.m., 4 and 6 p.m.
Cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children 12-under.
Tickets will be sold at the door.
The planetarium is located on the property of Terre Haute South High School.

Legendary country rocker David Allen Coe will perform at the Terre Haute Indiana Theatre Dec. 10.
Doors are set to open at 7 p.m., with the performance starting at 8 p.m.
All seats are reserved.

Pictures with Santa
Families interested in having a picture taken with Santa Claus are encouraged to stop by Sandy's Good Books, from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11.
The business is located at 1520 W. Whiterock Rd., Brazil.
Small gifts will be available for all children.

The annual Clay County Day Luncheon will take place in Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 20, 2011, at the Mattison's Riverside Ballroom at Twin Dolphin Marina.
Reservation letters have been mailed to past attendees.

The deadline for reservations is Dec. 30, 2010.
The monthly meeting of the Brazil/Clay County Airport board will be changed effective in December, to the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m.
In case of a conflict with a holiday, the meeting will take place on the second Tuesday of that month.
Also, the location will be moved from the airport lounge to the Clay County Commissioner's Court Room on the first floor of the Clay County Courthouse.
The first meeting there will take place Dec. 7, at 6 p.m.
