The Northview football team wrapped up a special football season with an 8-3 overall mark that included a sectional victory for just the second time.

On Wednesday afternoon, the program's success was recognized as four Knights' earned Honorable Mention All-State status in Class 4A.

Senior quarterback Trent Lancaster and wide receiver classmates, Zac Niehaus and Andrew Butts along with junior running back Damon Hyatt each were honored by the Associated Press for their efforts this season.

Lancaster capped one of the best seasons in school history with a total of 2,553 yards passing with 34 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also ran for a team-high 689 yards and added eight more trips to the endzone for a Knights' team that averaged more than 34 points per game. He completed 64 percent (144-of-234) of his passes this season.

Damon Hyatt led the team with 46 receptions and had 590 yards and had a total of 12 touchdowns.
Over the course of the season, Lancaster tied a state record with an eight-touchdown game against South Vermillion and had a 380-yard passing game to open the season against Franklin. Lancaster threw for more than 250 yards in five games and had five or more TD passes in three different contests. He finished the year 11th in the state in passing yards per game with 232 and was fifth in the state with 34 TD passes.

The receiving corp was one of the state's best as well this season, which led to Niehaus, Butts and Hyatt also earning a spot on the All-State team as well.

Niehaus was hobbled for a portion of the year with an ankle sprain, which limited him during the middle portion of the season. That didn't stop him from hauling in a total of 35 passes this year for 796 yards and 12 touchdowns. The senior receiver averaged 72 yards per game and started the year with a 293-yard day against Franklin during which he also grabbed five scoring passes from Lancaster.

Northview senior Zac Niehaus (No.4) caught 35 passes for 796 yards and 12 touchdowns this season.
Fellow senior Andrew Butts also had a breakout season for the Knights and led the Northview team with 1,023 yards receiving this season.

Butts grabbed 45 receptions this year and led the way with 13 touchdown grabs and scored in eight of Northview's games via pass reception. He also was tied for 18th in the state in receiving yards per game at 93 per game. He also averaged 33 yards over three punt returns late in the season.

Damon Hyatt was a force to be reckoned with for the Northview Knights this year, doing damage out of the backfield and in the receiving game.

Andrew Butts had 1,023 yards receiving on 45 receptions this year for the high-powered Knights' offense.
Hyatt ran for 300 yards this season and scored five times via the running game, but his biggest damage was done in the receiving game and in special teams.

Hyatt caught a team-high 46 passes this year for 590 yards and five touchdowns. Hyatt caught four-or-more passes in seven games.

In special teams, Hyatt averaged nearly 25 yards per kick-off return and over 31 yards per punt return and scored twice on returns this season.

The four players that the Knights placed on the Class 4A All-State team were the most that the program has ever had.
