Edward Wayne Parker, 76, Orlando, Fla., and Brazil, passed away Nov. 30, 2010, in Orlando, surrounded by close friends and family.

Wayne was the son of Benjamin H. Parker Jr., and Cora Emaline (Hanson) Parker, stepson of Charles W. McIntosh, all of Robinson, Ill.

While in high school in Robinson, Wayne met the love of his life, Marilyn Sue Martin, and the couple wed on Dec. 18, 1955.

Wayne served in the Army (military police) in the state of Washington. After serving his country, he attended Indiana State University, where he was a standout athlete in both basketball and track for the Indiana State Sycamores.

After graduating college, Wayne became a teacher and coach for several sports at the junior and senior high school level, then finished his career in education as Dean of Boys at Sarah Scott Jr. High School in Terre Haute.

After retiring, Wayne spent most of his free time pursuing his passions of fishing, playing golf and spending time with family and friends.

Wayne was a devoted member of the Ocoee Christian Church, where he served as an Elder and Trustee and was bestowed the title of Elder Emeritus.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sue, sons Brad Parker, Marshall, Ill., Wes Parker, Albion, Ill., and Rick Parker and wife Anita, Brazil, sister Elleanor Laswell and husband Robert, Robinson, Ill., grandchildren Ben, Leah and Keith Parker, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that donations be made in Wayne's memory to the Ocoee Christian Church, PO Box 128, Ocoee, Fla., 34761.
