The purpose of the event was to raise funds for the hospital foundation that in turn would be used to provide assistance and education to the community.
In its seventh year, the Festival Of Trees was enjoyed by a sellout crowd of 350. Those attending the holiday gala enjoyed an evening of holiday splendor with a wine tasting, hor'dorves, tasteful desserts and a silent auction. The highlight of the evening was the live auction, led by Chris and Brady Pell, of decorated Christmas Trees and holiday décor.
During the festivities, the SVCH Foundation recognized Simply Decadent as a community supporter, which has contributed to the success of the event with ongoing support for the "Friends of Sister Justina Morgan," award. The recognition highlights generous support and giving spirit.
The annual recognition is in honor of Daughter of Charity, Sister Justina Morgan.
Sister Justina grew up in Brazil and has family roots in the community. She also has ties to St. Vincent Hospital, where she completed professional training as a registered nurse in 1915. Her legacy continues through the award.
Tawnya Whittington received a framed print of the Heritage Wall mural at St. Vincent Clay Hospital, in which Sister Justina is prominently featured.
