The Brazil Times is looking for a person interested in providing volunteer commentating and videography for girls' and boys' basketball games this season.

Those interested should contact The Times at 446-2216, Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Wanted: 'Cat Socializer'

The Clay County Humane Society is looking for "cat socializers" to play with cats.

Interested people may come to the Humane Society any day from noon-5 p.m.

The Shelter is located at 8280 N County Road 125 W, Brazil.

Brazil Golf Board Notice

Until further notice, the Brazil Golf Board will meet in Council Chambers at Brazil City Hall at 7 p.m., on the third Monday of each month.

The meetings are open to the public.

'Decorate A Door'

Cloverleaf Healthcare, Knightsville, is sponsoring its first "Decorate a Door" contest at the facility.

The holiday creativity contest is open to the public, with prizes being awarded, including a top prize of $50 for the most creative display.

The contest is set to end today.

Meeting Scheduled

The Clay County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m., today, in the lower level of the museum.

The guest speakers will be Steven and Janeece England from Staunton.

The public is invited and welcome to attend the meeting.

Laser Show Scheduled

The Allen Memorial Planetarium will conduct a Holiday Laser Light Show Dec. 10, at 6:30 p.m., and Dec. 11, at 2 p.m., 4 and 6 p.m.

Cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children 12-under.

Tickets will be sold at the door.

The planetarium is located on the property of Terre Haute South High School.

Country Performance

Legendary country rocker David Allen Coe will perform at the Terre Haute Indiana Theatre Dec. 10.

Doors are set to open at 7 p.m., with the performance starting at 8 p.m. All seats are reserved.

Cost for tickets are $35, $25, $20, and $15.

Fire Department Breakfast!

The Reelsville Volunteer Fire Department will conduct its monthly breakfast from 7-11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 11.

The menu will consist of biscuits and gravy, pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage.

Santa Claus will also make an appearance for children.

Pictures With Santa

Families interested in having a picture taken with Santa Claus are encouraged to stop by Sandy's Good Books, from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11.

The business is located at 1520 W. Whiterock Rd., Brazil.

Small gifts will be available for all children.

Christmas Auction

Christmas In The Park will host a Christmas Auction Saturday, Dec. 11.

The event will take place at the V.F.W., located on South Depot Street.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the auction will begin at 7 p.m.

Food will be available, including chili with peanut butter sandwiches, hot dogs, coney dogs and desserts.

Republican Club Meeting Set

The Christmas meeting for the Clay County Republican Club will be at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 13, at the Clay County Senior Center on South Franklin Street in Brazil.

The event will be a "cookie extravaganza" with beverages and entertainment provided.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting.

'It's A Wonderful Life'

The Crosley Radio Players will present "It's A Wonderful Life," at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 19, at the Scottish Rite Lodge, located at 8th and Ohio Streets, Terre Haute.

Cost to attend the radio recreation is $5 for adults. Children will be admitted free with a paid adult.

Luncheon Scheduled

The annual Clay County Day Luncheon will take place in Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 20, 2011, at the Mattison's Riverside Ballroom at Twin Dolphin Marina.

Reservation letters have been mailed to past attendees. If there are any Clay Countians who wish to attend who did not receive a letter, call B.J. Hofmann, Chairman, at 812-239-9600.

The deadline for reservations is Dec. 30, 2010.
