Tri County Club
The Tri County Club met on Nov. 17, in the Zion Church basement with Rhonda Tincher as hostess. Blessing was asked by Diana with a delicious meal featuring cabbage rolls was enjoyed, by sixteen members and one guest, Carolyn Keiser.
The door prize was won by Mary Lyons, and the surprise package by Donna Rubeck. The meeting was opened by repeating the club creed and the Pledge of Allegiance. Readings were given by Roberta Nees "What do you see," Lucy Strauch "The Preacher's Donkey," and Kay Altemiller "Don't Quit." The card committee sent five cards.
The meeting was closed by repeating the Lord's Prayer. The social hour was spent playing bingo with Carolyn Keiser winning coverall.
Van Buren Homemakers
The Van Buren Homemakers met on Nov. 18, at the Baptist Church, with Leah Rae McMichael as hostess. Marcia Davis returned thanks and we enjoyed our lunch of chili, cheese and crackers. Myrna Schrader received the table gift.
Marcia opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the club creed. She read "Angel Seeds," for devotions. Three members responded to roll call telling something they were thankful.
Marcia sang the song of the month, "Home for the holidays." The secretary's report was read and approved.
Leah Rae gave the treasurer's report also was approved. A donation was taken up for our flower fund. Leah Rae gave the health and safety report "Keeping your children safe." No citizenship report was given this month.
Leah gave the leader lesson, "Crock Pot Meals." She served the chili recipe from the pamphlet for lunch. She tried two or three of the other recipes and thought they were also good.
Myrna delivered four dozen cookies to the Extension office. No decision was made on where and when to have the December meeting.
