Paul Maesch, 91, Staunton, passed away Dec. 9, 2010, at 12:32 p.m., at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born Dec. 12, 1918, in Marshall, Ill., son of Edward and Sarah Moore Maesch.

On Dec. 6, 1938, he married Helen Deakins Maesch. Together, they lived most of the married years in the Staunton area.

Paul worked for Leo Girton driving a coal truck for several years.

He later became a pipefitter and worked out of Local No. 157, for more than 40 years.

He was also a member of the F & AM Lodge No. 541 for more than 50 years.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, 10 siblings, his dear wife Helen in 1999, and his son-in-law Ralph Drake.

Survivors include his devoted daughters Barbara Drake, Janet Lang (Maurice), and Sue Anne (Jerry) Stearley, all of Clay County, nine grandchildren, Lori Furrer, Vicki King (Earl), Russell Drake (Jenny), Lisa Bass, James Paul Miller, Kristi Cabbatage, Cindy Stearley, Amy Stearley, and Joseph Stearley, 28 great-grandchildren Sunny Shaw, Joshua King (Sharlene), Brandy Brown (Eric), Tiffany King, Whitney King, Devin Drew Drake, Samantha Drake, Cary Drake, Sierra Jackson, Gage Drake, Eion Drake, Megan Bass, Stephanie Hughes, Jacob Dobson, Harley Paul Miller, Haylee Miller, Ashlee Bennett, Johnny Bennett, Erik Bennett, Ethan Cabbatage, Randall Allen Kline, II, Jessica Schultz, Abby Cramer, Zachary Jones, Joey Stearley, Baelee Stearley, Karyson Stearley, Braylin Clodfelter, great-great-grandchildren James, Izik, Gracie, Audrey, Jake, Donovan, Tyler, Jackson, Case, Skylee, Harmonie, Addison, Kloee, Kayden and Tucker, many nieces, nephews and extended family and a friend, Lucille Nance, Brazil

Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m., beginning with Masonic Services.

Funeral service will continue with Pastor Doug Parkey officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
