Organization helps feed residents

Sunday, December 12, 2010

To the Editor:

With the winter months upon us, many people will be confronted with difficult choices such a paying for food and paying for utilities or heating fuel.

More than 50 million Americans are food insecure; meaning they lack consistent access to enough food at some point during the year.

Terre Haute Catholic Charities Foodbank, a member of Feeding America, has been serving the Wabash Valley area for 30 years, helping more than 32,000 people every year.

With widespread community support, we are working to make sure that those in need are made aware of the help available to them through government programs and area agencies -- food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters -- that provide emergency food assistance. Together, we can provide hope to hungry Americans.

To learn what you can do to help eliminate hunger, log on to our website at www.CatholicCharitiesTerreHaute.org, or call the office at 812-232-1447.
