EMINENCE -- Coming off a conference loss on Friday night, the Clay City Eels bounced back to get a confidence building victory on the road against Eminence on Saturday.
The Eels got 20 points apiece from Tyler Bridgewater and Josh Decker to pick up a 61-60 victory.
"It was a good way for us to bounce back from Friday," Clay City coach Vance Edmondson said. "We executed our game plan nicely. We held their leading scorer in check most of the game. It was really good to go up there and get a win. We had a strong performance from both Bridgewater and Decker."
Decker posted 14 points in the first half for the Eels and added five rebounds in the win. Bridgewater had a nice all around game with nine rebounds and five assists.
"If we could have that from (Decker) from time to time that would be great for the team. I was very pleased with his performance on both ends of the floor," Edmondson said.
Jake Tiefel contributed seven points and both Justin Rodgers and Ben Denker added six points. Rodgers also had four steals.
The Eels (2-2 overall) return home to take on Vincennes Rivet on Friday night beginning with a 6:30 p.m. junior varsity game.
