INDIANAPOLIS -- Most retail counters in Greater Indiana District Post Offices will close at noon Christmas Eve, Friday, Dec. 24, and New Year's Eve, Friday, Dec. 31.
Mail delivery for Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 will not be affected by the change.
The Greater Indiana District includes cities and towns with zip codes 460-469, 472-475 and 476-479.
Final mail pickup from most blue collection boxes will be noon, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve, except at those offices open later.
The Terre Haute Main Post Office, 150 W. Margaret Dr., Terre Haute, will be the only post office in the Wabash Valley open until 5 p.m., Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
Revised hours will be posted at each Post Office and commercial customers are asked to check with their Bulk Mail Acceptance Unit for Dec. 24, and Dec. 31 hours of operation.
On New Year's Eve, additional select larger post offices will remain open until 3 p.m.
All Post Offices will be closed Saturday, Dec. 25, and Saturday, Jan. 1. Express mail (with paid holiday premium) will be delivered Christmas Day and New Year's Day in most major metro areas.
Regular mail delivery will resume Monday, Dec. 27, and Monday, Jan. 3.
