She was born Dec. 11, 1923, in Brazil, the daughter of Harold E. Stearley and Eva Augusta Ringo Stearley.
Nadine graduated from Brazil High School Class of 1941. On May 16, 1948, she married Alva M. Schepper. He preceded her in death April 8, 2009.
Nadine had worked for Dr. Robert Maurer as a receptionist for 11 years. She also worked for many years as the secretary at Meridian Elementary School and retired from there in the early 90s.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alva Schepper, brothers Curt Stearley and Linc Stearley, sister Maxine Hendrickson and a son-in-law "Pete" Peterson.
Survivors include three daughters Jeanine Peterson, Plainfield, Annette Hoopingarner (Bruce), Brazil, and Jeanette Vaughan (Marty), Plainfield, one grandson Eddy Vaughan, one granddaughter Erin Vaughan, brothers Larry Stearley, Alabama, and Gary Stearley, Florida, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m., at Summit Lawn Cemetery with Brother Doug Parkey officiating.
