GREENCASTLE -- The hard-luck 2010-11 season continued Tuesday when the Northview Knights visited Greencastle. The Knights failed to score for 12:36 in the second half and fell to the Tiger Cubs 64-23.

The loss drops the Knights to 1-10 on the season, with Owen Valley looming on the horizon.

Northview kept pace early with Greencastle, with Taylor Carter knocking down two buckets and Chelsea Sampson connecting on two free throws. After one quarter of play, Northview found themselves down 16-6.

Another solid quarter for the Tiger Cubs had the Knights down 30-14 at the half, looking for a strong second half to turn their fortunes around. Unfortunately it never came.

While GHS scored 20 points to open the second half, Northview went the entire third quarter and 4:36 into the fourth before it notched its first points of the half. Brooke Berry banked in a three-point basket from the top of the key to end the dry spell.

Cassie Weddle, Berry and Libby Deckard added baskets to close the game for Northview.

Northview shot just 10-43 (23 percent) from the field, including 1-of-9 (11 percent) from the three-point line on Tuesday.

In junior varsity action, the Knights fell short against the Tiger Cubs, losing 29-24.

The Knights will hit the road to face Owen Valley Friday at 6:30 p.m. in a varsity only contest.
