The 2011 Clay County Aspiring Artist Calendars are currently available.
Those interested in purchasing a calendar should call The Brazil Times at 446-2216, Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
The calendars cost $5.
The Brazil Times is looking for a person interested in providing volunteer commentating and videography for girls' and boys' basketball games this season.

The Clay County Historical Society has closed the doors of the museum for the winter months.
The museum will re-open March 14.
There will be no membership meeting until March 7, 2011.

The Posey Township Euchre Group will reconvene for games Tuesday.
Games are played weekly on Tuesdays, at the Staunton Community Center, at 12:45 p.m.
In addition, those interested in learning how to play Euchre are encouraged to attend. Organizers stated beginners are welcome for training.
The Clay County Humane Society is looking for "cat socializers" to play with cats.
Interested people may come to the Humane Society any day from noon-5 p.m.
The Shelter is located at 8280 N County Road 125 W, Brazil.
Union Hospital, Terre Haute, will host a blood drive from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., today.
The Indiana Blood Center Bloodmobile will be at the Professional Office Building South Parking Lot, 1530 N. 7th St., Terre Haute.
The hospital will offer free Colts' footballs or Colts long-sleeved shirts for donors.
The Allen Memorial Planetarium will present a seasonal star program today, at 6:30 p.m., and Saturday, at 2 and 4 p.m.
The 30-minute educational program will introduce the constellations and other astronomical wonders of the winter season.
There is no charge for the program, but donations will be accepted.
The planetarium is located at Terre Haute South High School.

The Reelsville Volunteer Fire Department will conduct its monthly breakfast from 7-11 a.m., Saturday.
The menu will consist of biscuits, gravy, pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage.
First Meeting of Year
The Center Point Town Council has scheduled its first meeting for 2011 for 9 a.m., Saturday, at town hall.
Interested residents are encouraged to attend.
The Jackson Township Advisory Board will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the Jackson Township Community House.
The first Clay County Cracker Barrel of 2011 will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Cory Firehouse.
The event is sponsored by the Clay County Chamber of Commerce and Clay County Farm Bureau, and will feature state senators and representatives from the area.
The Bloomfield High School class of 2012 will conduct a prom dress sale fundraiser from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 15.
The event will take place in the Bloomfield High School cafeteria.
Dresses may be dropped off Friday, Jan. 14, from 6-8 p.m.
A $5 confinement fee will be charged per dress, in addition to a $5 fee for each dress that is purchased.

The Clay County Redevelopment Committee has scheduled its organizational meeting for 6 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the Clay County Commissioner's Courtroom in the Clay County Courthouse.
