ELLETSVILLE -- Northview's wrestlers got a dual match look on Wednesday night, at one of the challengers to the Western Indiana Conference crown that the Knights currently possess. A very solid Edgewood Mustangs team fell at home to the Knights by a 45-21 score as five Northview grapplers won via fall.
Coming off a 6-3 record in the two-day Warrior Classic in Scottsburg over the holidays and a fourth at the Columbus East Invitational in mid-December, the Mustangs were well-prepared for the Knights, but Northview was too tough to tame.
The Knights swept the top and bottom of the lineup as Jesse Miller won a tight, 3-0 decision against the Mustangs' Ben Patton at 189 pounds, Aaron See pinned James Klyczek at 215 and Beau Judd put Brad Settle on his back for a fall in 1:44 at 285 pounds.
At 103 pounds, Shane Ryan claimed a pin over Jared Pyle in 1:36, Caleb Nicosin scored a 14-8 victory at 112 and Skyler Hall got a decision at 119 over Jackson Snyder, 6-2.
Austin Bell took the 130-pound class via a 5-0 decision against Cody Cowden and Colin Richards won by pin at 145 pounds. Brody Girton won at 152 by pin and Larry Shaffer was a 9-3 winner at 160 pounds.
The Knights are back in action this weekend at the Columbus East Six-Way beginning at 9 a.m.
