The Moody Symphonic Band, conducted by David Gauger II, of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, will be performing on Saturday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m., at Faith Southern Baptist Church, Clay City.
Founded in 1970, the Moody Symphonic Band is comprised of qualified students from the Institute's undergraduate division. Their repertoire includes band and orchestral concert music as well as hymn and gospel song arrangements of both traditional and contemporary styles.
The Band ministers in various churches across the country twice a year, and has also toured internationally in Hong Kong, China, Central Europe, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Israel.
David Gauger 11, a native of Rolling Meadows, Ill., is conductor of the Moody Symphonic Band and Coordinator of Instrumental Instruction at Moody Bible Institute.
He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Wheaton College and a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University.
