COLUMBUS -- The Northview wrestling team continued to compete against some of the state's top competition on Saturday as the Knights took part in the Columbus East Invite.

The Knights came away with a 3-2 dual mark on the day, claiming wins against Triton Central (60-18), Seymour (49-21) and Greenwood (39-39, won by criteria). Northview fell to the host school (48-22) and to 13th ranked Center Grove (67-6).

"The team went 3-2. I felt pretty good about some of our matches," Northview coach Dan Mikesell said. "Our younger kids and inexperienced kids are making progress and I am confident it will show up with some wins soon for them."

Aaron See continued his success at 215 pounds by defeating all five of his opponents to improve to 19-2 this season. Beau Judd lost only to Center Grove in going 4-1 to improve to 15-6 this season at 285 pounds

"Aaron See had another great performance as he went 5-0," Mikesell said. "He was pretty dominant with five pins. Beau Judd had a good day despite not feeling 100 percent. He just got caught against the Center Grove kid, he beat the Columbus east wrestler to finish the day 4-1 and that kid beat the Center Grove kid."

Larry Shaffer finished 4-1 at 160 pounds and Brandon Pleake improved to 8-3 this season at 189 pounds.

Caleb Nicosin won three matches at 112 pounds, Skyler Hall won three at 119 pounds and Brody Girton went 3-2 at 152 pounds for the Knights. Shane Ryan finished 2-3 on the day along with Austin Bell at 130 and Nathan Duregger at 171.
