In September 2000, St. Vincent Health partnered with the community to develop a hospital that could meet the needs of the community of Clay County.

In the past 10 years, hospital officials have strived to identify the needs of the community by giving a voice to the community through its Community Needs Assessment.

The goal of the needs assessment is to identify the assets of the community and determine potential concerns and challenges.

In August 2010, the Community Needs Assessment survey tool was mailed throughout the community. Since that time, hospital officials said they have been working with Indiana State University to compile results.

At noon, Friday, Jan. 21, representatives from ISU will present the findings. The 2010 Community Health Needs Assessment will highlight the needs, health disparities and assets of Clay County, while helping hospital officials direct resources so they have the greatest impact on the health of Clay County residents.

Residents are invited to attend the event, which will take place in the Medical Office Building Community Room. Lunch will be served.

Those attending are urged to RSVP to Andrea Baysinger by calling 442-2740 or e-mailing asbaysin@stvincent.org.
