Noel Edwin Allen, 82, Brazil, died at 2 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at Exceptional Living Center, Brazil.

He was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Zanesville, Ohio, as the son of Herbert N. and Elta Garvey Allen. Following high school, Noel was employed as a construction manager building brick plants and potteries in the U.S., South America, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico. He married Helen J. Richardson Dec. 13, 1947, in Cordova, Ala.

He came to Brazil and worked as general manager for Marion Brick Corp., from 1965-79. After retiring from the brick business, Noel opened Red Roof Antiques selling Robinson Ransbottom Pottery from his home town of Roseville, Ohio.

He later operated Red Roof Locks from that same location on National Avenue until his retirement in 2008, at the age of 79.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge 541, Zorah Shrine, Grotto, Scottish Rite and had served on the Clay County Merit Board and Probation Board for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Jean Read and Dorothy Darnell.

He is survived by his wife Helen, daughters Rana Hill (Bob), Nanette Metz (Tom), and Patricia Woodcox (Garth), grandchildren Shawn Schauber (Amy), Joshua Metz, Tiffani Pasalich (Robby), Ashley Woodcox, Jennifer Woodcox, Lindsay Woodcox, and Ryan Woodcox, great-grandchildren Zane Schauber, Zeke Cooper, and Mikayla Knierim, brother and sister Jerry N. Allen (Jill) and Elizabeth Sue Horn, and other extended family.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 16, at Moore Funeral Home. A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Parkey officiating.

Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for children, Office of Development, 2900 Ricky Point Drive, Tampa, Fla., 33607.
