VA vehicle now available

My office has received the loaner vehicle to transport Veterans to their doctor's appointments.

Don Funk and I picked up the 2011 Ford Escape Wednesday, Jan. 12. To reserve a ride, call Mike Holland at 448-9015 seven-10 days in advance of the date of your appointment. I will need your name, last four digits of your Social Security number, time of appointment and what facility you need a ride to.

We no longer have the ability to transport wheelchair patients and are not allowed to because of the DAV rules. You must be able to get in and out of the vehicle unassisted.

If you need assistance with a wheelchair once you get to the VA, you should bring a friend or relative with you.

By accepting a ride to the VA in the DAV vehicle, you are not allowed to receive travel pay.
