"We're going to be holding off on doing that," President Zac Chambers told The Brazil Times. "We still have not got our 501(c)3 completed. Until we get this paperwork done, we can't go out fundraising."
Chambers added the organization hopes to reschedule the fundraising event, possibly during Mother's Day.
In December, the group began planning the event, which it hoped to conduct during Valentine's Day, at the newly opened Renaissance Reception and Conference Center, 101 W. National Ave., Brazil.
Chambers said the organization still wants to have the fundraising event at the center.
Chambers said he planned to get with organization Vice President Tony Harper soon to fill out the paperwork for the 501(c)3.
"It's simply a question of filling in the blanks on the forms," Chambers said. "We could have that pounded out at the end of the month. Our goal is to start off the new year properly."
The group is, however, still selling fudge from the Family Fudge Factory, 8915 N. CR 500 W., Brazil, which may be picked up at Harper Studios, 111 W. National Ave., Brazil.
Chambers added the organization would be changing its elected officers in the near future.
The organization meets regularly on the first Thursday of each month at the Brazil Public Library, at 6 p.m.
Its next scheduled meeting is Thursday, Feb. 3.
