Ellena Kaelber Botner, 93, Brazil, passed away Jan. 19, 2011, at the St. Vincent Clay Hospital.
She was born June 26, 1917, in Posey Township, the daughter of George Kaelber and Christina Nolte Kaelber. Ellena attended the Dutch Knob School and graduated from Staunton High School, Class of 1935. She worked at the Brazil City Water Works office, the Brazil License Branch and later for General Telephone Co., from where she retired in 1982.
On Feb. 14, 1971, Ellena married Philip Botner. He preceded her in death Jan. 13, 1986.
Ellena had attended the Brazil Bible Fellowship and the First Baptist Church in Brazil.
Survivors include her nephew Don Wells, nephew-in-law Lawrence Thomas, great-nieces, Christina Schrader, Darlene Olmstead, Brenda Crawford and Radanna Doan and great-nephew Dan Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Edward Kaelber, two sisters Dorothy Wells Davis, Mabel Froderman, sister-in-law, Clarice Price, two nephews George Curtis Jack Kaelber and Lee Wells, and two nieces Shirley Thomas, and Dorothy Ann Hughes.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., at French Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, from noon-2 p.m.
