The Putnam County Soil and Water Conservation District will host a Conservation Celebration Jan. 26, at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Community Building.
Two workshops have been scheduled for the evening.
The first workshop, set for 5-6 p.m., will focus on fertilizer effects on water quality. The featured speaker is set to be Purdue Extension's Jim Luzar and Vigo County Soil and Water Conservation District representative Jan Came, who will discuss, "Rain Gardens/Rain Barrels: Why Do We Need Them?"
The second workshop is set for 7-8 p.m., and will focus on soil quality.
Featured speakers include Agriculture Liaison Harold Thompson, Empower Results representative Jill Hoffman and Hans Kok.
Watershed programs at Big Walnut will be discussed.
In addition, dinner is scheduled for 6-7 p.m. Nicholson Consulting LLC, representative Andy Nicholson will speak on nitrogen management and crop yields.
